ABOUT

Quartz countertops have revolutionized the landscape of kitchen aesthetics and functionality, embodying timeless elegance, durability, and remarkable versatility. Artfully engineered by nature and perfected through technological advancements, these countertops have established themselves as a distinctive emblem in modern interior design.

What are Quartz Countertops?

Quartz countertops are a man-made product. They are created by combining natural quartz and minerals with chemical resins and pigments. The manufacturing process allows unparalleled creative options. Made of 93% natural stone, they’re an excellent example of human ingenuity and nature combined.

However, although quartz countertops are often called “engineered” or “man-made,” quartz is actually one of the hardest, most abundant natural elements.

Engineered quartz countertops are stain-resistant, scratch-resistant and are made to be able to handle the daily and rigorous kitchen activities. Additionally, they are non-porous which ensures easy maintenance and prevention of any mold or bacteria. Gentle cleaning with soap and water is enough to properly maintain the countertop.

With good maintenance, quartz countertops can last for a long duration. They may even last longer than your house! This is as the synthetic components employed in their manufacturing do not deteriorate over time, and the natural materials are almost indestructible.

Quartz Vs. Granite and Marble

Granite has been a popular choice for countertops for the longest time due to its strength and durability. However, quartz are more durable and harder than granite, making it a more reliable and resilient surface. It’s also extremely heat resistant, up till a certain threshold. They can withstand up to 150 F before taking on some damage. Therefore, it removes the fear of damaging the countertop by directly placing hot pots and pans to a certain extent.

Marble countertops are more prone to scratches and stains, unlike quartz which is scratch and stain-resistant. Additionally, marble may require frequent sealing and polish, however, quartz countertops or vanity don’t need to be sealed or polished.

An added bonus of quartz countertops is that they can be made to look like granite or marble. So, you get the best of both worlds – the benefits of quartz and the looks of the marble or granite of your choice.

If you’re opting for quartz countertops, make sure to get them installed professionally and not do a DIY to get the best results.

At Al Asal Marbles we also provide a 10-year warranty on our quartz products alongside our promise to offer premium-quality product that will not break, stain or scratch.
